Here we encountered a relatively new home in a development in Andover where all homes were 4,000 sq. ft. or larger. This home had poor air flow and the comfort levels were a problem.
Determining why the HVAC system was not performing up to its capabilities was the first order of business. Nashoba Air & BoilerWorks ran a duct blaster on the distribution system and found that the duct system had a 42% leakage rate before air flow ever hit a register. We scoped out the supply and return trunk lines, as well as all the branch runs, and found two ducts that had never been connected!
Both these problems were corrected and the system was completely sealed with Aeroseal. Upon completion, the system had less than a 3% leakage rate and ideal comfort was restored to the home.
