Indoor Air Quality
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, scientific studies indicate that the air inside the home can be more seriously polluted with allergens and irritants than the air outside! Research also shows that Americans spend almost 90% of their time indoors. For many, the risks to their health and that of their families may be greater due to exposure to air pollution indoors … especially the elderly and chronically ill, the young, and anyone suffering from cardiovascular or respiratory disease, such as asthma.
Some allergens present indoors include humidity, dust, and irritants from household cleaners, paints, pesticides, adhesives, cosmetics, and even air fresheners! Nashoba Air & BoilerWorks offers a number of indoor air quality products and accessories to give you cleaner, healthier indoor air.
Plasma Air Purifiers – Also known as bi-polar ionization, this technology produces natural oxidizers that seek out contaminants and odors indoors. While reducing gases and odors, it also kills mold, bacteria, and viruses. It works by using naturally occurring, oppositely charged hydrogen and oxygen ions to create a plasma that is injected into a moving air stream. This plasma breaks down gases and reduces particulates to harmless compounds and filters them out of indoor air. A plasma air purifier is an excellent replacement for UV systems that require expensive bulb replacement. To learn more, visit Global Plasma Solutions or check it out on YouTube.
Air Cleaners – Air cleaners have the best overall performance and provide the greatest relief to those with allergies and asthma. They provide quality airflow, removing pollen, dust, and some bacteria. An electronic filter is up to 40 times more effective than a standard throw-away filter. An alternate 5” media filter is up to 15 times more effective than a standard throw-away filter.
Dehumidifiers – Excess humidity in the home can have a huge impact on your comfort. A whole-house dehumidifier removes just the right amount of moisture for ultimate comfort. With a dehumidifier, you can eliminate that clammy feeling and indoor “stickiness” and say goodbye to musty odors. Working throughout your home, a whole-house dehumidifier solves the problem of portable dehumidifiers that are noisy and need to be emptied. Plus … areas of the home where there is more moisture build-up, like basements or crawlspaces, are dehumidified, even when the heat or air conditioning isn’t running.
Humidifiers – The right amount of moisture is essential to make your home as comfortable as possible. The right amount of moisture reduces dry throat and dry skin and static shocks. It keeps your furniture and your home from drying out and increases energy efficiency. A home with the right amount of moisture feels warmer than a dry home, even at lower temperature settings. For many families, a whole-house humidifier not only provides the right amount of moisture, it can also help to keep irritating airborne particles from circulating as easily.
Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV) – A heat recovery ventilator pulls pollutants and excess moisture to the outside of the home. During cold weather, it efficiently recovers heat from the exhaust stream and when the climate is hot and muggy, an HRV pre-cools and pre-dehumidifies incoming air.
“I just can’t say enough about our new plasma air purifier. I am breathing better and the air seems clearer, definitely worth it!”
“Leo from Nashoba Air saved my life this morning. He came to do the yearly maintenance and found the vent from the hot water heater as not connected to the vent pipe letting carbon dioxide into the furnace room. He put screws into the pipe so it would not disconnect again.
So along with doing a great job with the maintenance he really did save my life.”

“They completed an entire conversion from steam heat to forced hot air in the matter of 3 days. They took out the old radiators too. Follow their advice when it comes to everything technical and you’ll be really happy with the result. If you need your heat replaced in the winter, they do provide electric space heaters.“
